About the Practice
Dr. Danson is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and practices general internal medicine. His undergraduate degree in biological sciences, as well as his medical degree, was obtained from the University of California at Irvine. This is also where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. Upon finishing residency, he opened his private internal medicine practice in Santa Barbara in 1983.
Dr. Danson greatly enjoys practicing medicine, whether that be treating minor ailments such as colds and sore throats, or complicated and challenging illness such as heart disease or cancer. He is particularly interested, however in preventing illness. Diet, nutrition, and exercise counseling form a large part of his practice. His goal for all his patients is that they become as healthy and as strong as strong as possible.
Dr. Danson believes it is important for all his patients to gain an understanding of the causes, epidemiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of common illnesses. He feels that patient education is essential for disease prevention and wellness, and facilitates treatment of illness if it does occur. Thus Dr. Danson has written a series of articles covering important topics in medicine, and continues to do so on a monthly basis.
